YSC has developed our "Code of Champions" to serve as a roadmap designed to teach children how to adopt a "champion's" attitude. At the introductory phase of ages 6-12, we believe it's important to clearly declare to our young participants' that performance is measured by attitude more than a "win versus loss" record. YSC's deliberate emphasis on core values of effort, respect and pride declares to participants' what we (coaches) feel is most important. Our guiding message to the kids is that with right attitude all things are possible! We believe in taking the long-view on development and will not sacrifice our principals in order to achieve short-term success. Our goal is to develop superior technical players who demonstrate an endless desire to become the best they can be at whatever they set out to do. It is our belief this mentality of striving for excellence is a characteristic that is shared by all true "champions" both on and off the field. Just as soccer skills can be developed and learned with practice we believe this mentality or behavior can be learned and developed. YSC's Code of Champions embodies our guiding principals - effort, respect and pride are values YSC emphasizes during all interactions with our participants. YSC's approach is about putting attitude into action in order to maximize potential both on and of the field of play.

Effort: Champions always give their best effort!
Regardless of the situation Champions always try their best. Without effort one does not deserve success. Success is something one earns through hard work and practice.

Respect: Champions are always respectful to others!
True Champions always treat others with respect (teammates, coaches, opponents, referees, teachers, parents, family, the club, the game, etc).

Pride: Champions take pride in what they do!
Champions take pride in who they are and what they do. Champions believe in themselves and are never afraid to make mistakes because they understand that making mistakes = learning.
